Without it, it is difficult to imagine kebab and herring. In the marinade, this vegetable can be stored for a long time, without losing freshness, but very few people prepare it for future use.   • You can pickle onions in a hot or cold way. The hot method allows you to get a snack without much bitterness, but almost not at all crispy. Cold marinated onions remain crisp and fairly spicy. If you want to get moderately sharp pickled onions, you need to pour it with boiling water, after 30 seconds, put it in cold water, then squeeze and marinate in a cold way.
  • It is recommended to pickle onions in glass, ceramic containers or food plastic containers. Do not use aluminum dishes for this: it forms harmful substances upon contact with acids.
  • In order to pickle onions in a fast way, 9 percent table vinegar is most often used. It can always be replaced with apple, grape or even balsamic, taking them in larger quantities. Six percent of vinegar will take one and a half times more, three percent - three times more. Onions, pickled in apple, grape or other fruit vinegar, have a more pleasant taste and aroma. Acetic essence can be used only in the form previously diluted to the desired concentration.

Method of preparation:

  • Free the onions from the husk, cut into rings or half rings about 2-3 mm thick. Put in a container in which you will pickle it.
  • Pour salt and sugar in a bowl, add vinegar and water to them. Whisk with a whisk, trying to achieve complete dissolution of the crystals.
  • Pour marinade onion, mix by hand.
  • Store the onion container in the refrigerator.
