Coffee frappe for many of our compatriots is a “familiar stranger.” On the one hand, in the menu of many bars this drink is absent, on the other hand it is difficult to find a person who has never had a chance to taste the cooled coffee, wondering how pleasant it tastes in the cold. The cooled coffee drink is called coffee frappe. According to the technology, it is whipped together with crushed ice. For connoisseurs of French, this is obvious: the French use the word “frappe” to denote many drinks that are prepared with the addition of ice crumbs. Despite its French name, ice coffee is of Greek origin. He appeared by chance when one of the participants in the economic fair, not finding boiling water, poured instant coffee with cold water and whipped it with a shaker, which was on his stand. Now this unintentional invention is popular in many countries.

Without kitchen assistants, it is impossible to make frappe coffee: it must be decorated with foam, which cannot be obtained without a shaker, mixer or blender. With the appropriate instruments, the process of preparing a drink will not be a difficult task even for a novice barista. Knowing some points will make it easier to solve.

  • Despite the fact that the original coffee frappe was made from soluble concentrate, based on the drink, brewed from a natural product, it turns out much tastier and invigorates better. Coffee lovers make it from ground arabica or robusta.
  • When cooking in Turku, do not allow black coffee to boil, but remove it from the stove 2-3 times and return to it to make the drink stronger, get a richer taste and aroma.
  • Coffee brewed in a Turk must be drained before combining with other ingredients and whipping.
  • A liquid coffee base for coffee frappe is not made using cold water, even if it uses soluble powder. However, the base after cooking must be cooled to a temperature not higher than room temperature. Only then can it be combined with ice and whipped.
  • Chipped ice can be made from ice cubes by grinding it with a blender.
  • Beat the coffee frappe until a fluffy foam is formed. Without it, it will be just a cold coffee drink, not a real frappe.

Original coffee frappe recipe

Composition:

  • instant coffee - 7-8 g;
  • water - 150 ml;
  • sugar - 5-10 g;
  • crushed ice - 50 g.

Method of preparation:

  • Sugar mixed with instant coffee powder.
  • Boil water, pour the mixture.
  • Stir until coffee and sugar are completely dissolved.
  • Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for half an hour.

Natural coffee can be used instead of instant coffee. In this case, it must be brewed in a Turk or cooked in a coffee maker. Do not forget to strain before connecting with ice chips.

Coffee frappe with milk

Composition:

  • fine ground coffee - 15 g;
  • water - 60 ml;
  • milk - 100 ml;
  • crushed ice - 50 g;
  • sugar - to taste.

Method of preparation:

  • Add coffee to the bottom of the Turks, fill it with water, stir it, put it on a fire.
  • As soon as the coffee starts to boil, remove the Turk from the fire. After 20 seconds, return to the stove and wait for boiling again.
  • Remove from heat, add sugar, mix.
  • Strain and cool.
  • Mix with chilled milk.
  • Pour the drink into the bowl of the blender, add ice cubes.
  • Turn on the unit and beat the beverage until a fluffy foam is formed.

It remains to pour the coffee cocktail into a glass and serve. Do not forget to insert a straw. To save time, you can not make coffee, and make it from soluble granules, but the taste and aroma of such a drink will be inferior brewed in the Turk.

Coffee frappe with chocolate

Composition:

  • espresso - 60 ml;
  • milk mix for making ice cream - 60 ml;
  • crushed ice - 100 g;
  • chocolate syrup - 30 ml;
  • whipped cream - to taste.

Method of preparation:

  • Cook your espresso. Cool it down.
  • Pour cold espresso, ice, a tablespoon of chocolate syrup and ice cream mixture into the blender bowl.
  • Beat until thick foam forms.
  • Pour into a chilled glass.
  • Decorate with whipped cream. Pour the remaining chocolate syrup.

Coffee frappe with strawberries

Composition:

  • black coffee - 60 ml;
  • milk - 60 ml;
  • ice cream - 30 g;
  • strawberry syrup - 20 ml;
  • strawberries - 1 pc .;
  • mint - 1 leaf.

Method of preparation:

  • Cool the milk and coffee.
  • In the blender bowl, mix the milk, ice cream and syrup, whisk until the composition is homogeneous.

Composition:

  • black coffee - 60 ml;
  • banana - 50 g;
  • crushed ice - 50 g;
  • milk - 100 ml;
  • chocolate - 50 g;
  • whipped cream - to taste.

Method of preparation:

  • Whip the coffee with crushed ice.
  • Add sliced ​​banana pulp and milk into small pieces.
  • Whisk.
  • Melt the chocolate in a water bath, cool, pour into the bottom of the glass.
