Potato pie with minced meat - a variation on the theme of the traditional shepherd's pie, which is often, in simple terms, called potato casserole. The cake is very easy to prepare. Its basis is minced meat fried with vegetables. It is covered with mashed potatoes with butter and green onions. All this splendor is baked in the oven until golden brown, it turns out very tasty!
A traditional shepherd’s pie is made with lamb and vegetables, in Britain it is called 'shepherds pie' , and the word “sheperd” stands for “shepherd” (and not a cow or any other). Pie with beef or minced meat is called the village pie, which is also cottage. By the way, you can cook a vegetarian version, replacing the meat with soy or tofu, this dish is called "Shepherd's Pie".

Ingredients for potato pie with minced meat
- 450 g of minced meat;
- 600 g potatoes;
- 50 g butter;
- 120 g red onions;
- 50g green onions;
- 50 g celery;
- 150 grams of vegetable solyanka;
- 60 g tomato puree;
- 1 chili pepper;
- 30 g parmesan;
- 20 g of peeled sunflower seeds;
- cooking oil, salt, pepper, oregano.
Method of cooking potato pie with minced meat
Cut red onion into thin half-rings. Celery stalks cut across small cubes. Pour a couple of tablespoons of refined cooking oil into the pan, throw red onions and celery, fry for a few minutes.
Add minced meat to vegetables, knead with a spatula so that it does not stick together. Fry minced meat for 15 minutes.
For the recipe for potato pie, any minced meat will do, you can take chicken, you get a lighter version of the dish.
Next, add the vegetable solyanka to the pan. This can be any set of vegetables, for example, lecho of red pepper, zucchini or eggplant stew.
All together, salt and pepper, mix, add tomato puree and cook on low heat for another 20 minutes.
Boil the potatoes in their skins, peel them. Mash potatoes, add butter and finely chopped green onion. Mix thoroughly, salt to taste.
We lubricate the refractory form with oil, spread roasted minced meat with vegetables, distribute it evenly. You need to choose a thick-walled form with high sides, ideal - cast-iron pan.
On the stuffing put mashed potatoes with onions, we crush. We make a pattern with a fork. Cut pods of chili in half lengthwise, put on mashed potatoes.
Sprinkle potato pie with minced meat with grated parmesan, sunflower seeds and oregano. We heat the oven to a temperature of 185 degrees Celsius. Put the form in a preheated oven.
