Selyan-style young potatoes baked in the oven may seem like a rather commonplace dish at first, since a minimum of components and processes are used, but the result is a very tasty and beautiful side dish. Untreated tubers are used for the recipe, so it is better to choose a young fruit with a delicate skin.
Potatoes are carefully washed, chopped, powdered with a diverse set of spices. In a traditional recipe, there is always garlic, since it is this food that gives the dish a delicious aroma and taste. Potatoes after roasting in the oven have a dense ruddy crust, with a rather soft inner part.
It is permissible to use potato in rural style, either alone or in combination with various sauces, meat or vegetable dishes.
What is needed:
• 1000 grams of potatoes;
• 3-4 cloves of garlic;
• 4 dessert spoons of vegetable oil;
• spices: paprika, Adyghe salt, coriander, hot pepper;
• parsley.
Instruction:
Place the tubers of potatoes in a container with water, carefully remove dirt using a stiff brush. The peel of the fetus will remain in place, so it should be as clean as possible. Dry the vegetable after washing well.
Next, cut each tuber into 4 longitudinal parts; if the fruit is large, you can make more pieces. Try to make slices of approximately the same size and shape, so the final dish will look more beautiful.
Mix all spices in one spicy mixture, pour the potatoes with it, mix. The amount of each spice should not exceed half a teaspoon; adjust the portion of salt independently.
Separate garlic cloves from the film, crush under a press, throw to the potatoes.
Put the potatoes in the spices into a heat-resistant form or a cast-iron pan without a plastic handle. Top potatoes pour vegetable oil, mix, evenly distributing it over the vegetable. Cover the container with a piece of foil for the first 20 minutes so that the potatoes do not dry out, then remove it.
Preheat the oven, put the form inside with the contents. Bake the dish for the next 45 minutes at a set temperature of 200 degrees. But the cooking period can also vary depending on the particular potato variety. To accurately determine the level of readiness, pierce the fruit with a toothpick. Stir the potatoes several times.
Before serving, sprinkle it with chopped fresh herbs.
