There is hardly a person in the world who would never try Korean carrots! Such a dish has become so popular that it can be purchased off-the-shelf in stores and supermarkets, Koreans sell them in large and small markets, but much more tasty will be the salad made from his own ingredients.
And yes, by the way, you will not find dishes with this name in Korea itself, even if you show a photo of a salad in restaurants or cafes of that country, since the name of the dish is made-up! The classic Korean carrot is cooked without the addition of ground hot pepper, but you can safely add it to your liking if the dish is not eaten by children.
Cooking time: 15 minutes
- 2 carrots;
- 1 onion;
- 2 cloves of garlic;
- 20 ml of vegetable oil;
- 1 tsp coriander seeds;
- salt and pepper to taste;
- 0.5 tsp. 9% vinegar;
- 2 pinch of granulated sugar.
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Peel carrots and rinse in water. Grate each vegetable grated for carrots in Korean, long thin ribbons into a deep container. To create this dish is suitable only this way of cutting vegetables.
Peel the onion, rinse in water and cut into small cubes. Warm up the vegetable oil in the pan: olive or sunflower, odorless. Spread onion in the pan.
Peel the garlic cloves and compress directly into onion slices, fry for about 2 minutes until golden brown. Then remove the slices, leaving only a small portion. Reduce heat to minimum. Instead of fresh garlic, it is permissible to use dried ground, but it must be added along with all the spices.
Put the carrot mass in the pan.
Pour salt, ground black pepper, coriander grains, a couple of dabs of granulated sugar. Thoroughly mix the whole carrot with spices and spices, simmer for minimum heat for exactly 1 minute, then turn off the heat. Put the mass in a deep container, pour vinegar and mix again. Leave on for 30 minutes, taking out into the cold, so that the salad “sucks in” the whole bouquet of flavors and aromas. By the way, Korean carrots are much tastier in the morning, if you created it in the evening.
Put the cooked dish in the bowls or bowls, decorate with fresh herbs and serve.
