Lentils with chicken and vegetables is a simple recipe that makes it easy to make a tasty and healthy dish for lunch or dinner. Lentils themselves are very nutritious, as they contain large amounts of vegetable protein. No wonder many Asian nations, it replaces the bread and meat, nutritional qualities to replace them there is more than enough! In addition, this useful leguminous culture has medicinal properties, for example, in Ancient Rome, it was believed that by constantly eating lentils, a person would recover from a nervous breakdown, become calm.
In this lentil recipe, in addition to healthy pulses, there is also chicken, which, as is well known, also belongs to the category of “calm foods”. In chicken meat, many amino acids, one of them - tryptophan, promotes the production of serotonin. Therefore, the recipe itself asks for a piggy bank called "soothing food."

Ingredients of lentils with chicken and vegetables
- 1 cup of green lentils;
- 4 chicken wings;
- 1 Bulgarian pepper;
- 2 onions;
- 2 carrots;
- 100 g tomato puree;
- 2 cloves of garlic;
- oil for frying, salt, pepper, bay leaf, greens for serving.
Method of cooking lentils with chicken and vegetables
Rinse green lentils with cold water and place in a saucepan. Add half of the bulb, two cloves of garlic, bay leaf. Pour about 1.5 liters of cold water, bring to a boil. Cook until done on low heat, salt it at the end of cooking. Usually lentils are ready in half an hour, but this depends on the variety.

While the lentils are being cooked, we will prepare the remaining ingredients of our stew.
Finely chop the remaining onions. Peel carrots and shred them thinly. Peeled peppers cut into strips.
Heat the vegetable oil in the pan, first pass the onions, then add the carrots. When the onions and carrots are soft, put the sweet pepper, add tomato puree or tomatoes chopped in a blender. Cooking vegetables 15 minutes, to taste, salt, pepper.
Next, prepare the wings. First, wash the chicken with cold water, then dry it with a paper towel. Sprinkle with ground red and black pepper, salt, pour vegetable oil.
Grease the pan, fry the wings in hot oil until golden brown on both sides.
The lentils are ready, the vegetables are stewed, the wings are browned - we collect the stew.
Pour the ready-made lentils into the pan for the vegetables, stir until the vegetable sauce is absorbed.
Now put the fried wings in the pan. Meanwhile, heat the oven to a temperature of 170 degrees Celsius.
We bring the dish to readiness in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes.
Put the lentils with vegetables on a plate, top the chicken, decorate the dish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately. Enjoy your meal!
