Everyone knows that you can make various healthy salads from the root celery - with cabbage, carrots, apples, cucumbers, and many more fruits and vegetables. But did you know that celery root is good to add to other dishes, for example, in burgers or casseroles? Try to cook celery croquettes with rice - you'll see, your homemade will appreciate! Cutlets with a “mysterious ingredient” are very tasty, despite the fact that they have no meat at all (which, however, no one would guess at once).
Ingredients for celery cutlets with rice
- 1 medium celery root;
- 0, 5 tbsp. rice;
- 1 egg;
- Salt, ground black pepper;
- Dill, parsley;
- Sunflower oil.
Method of making celery cutlets with rice
Wash and clean the celery root, rub it on a grater, large or small.
Let us heat the sunflower oil in the pan and save the grated celery until soft, stirring with a spoon. Boil rice until cooked. When the celery and rice have cooled slightly, mix them, salt and pepper.
Add the egg and the chopped dill, knead well and form small balls with the hands dipped in water. Each ball is about a table tennis ball. Although you can give croquet and another form - for example, oblong or flat, like meatballs.
In the middle of each ball you can put a “surprise” - a cube of hard cheese. When frying it will melt - it will turn out very original and tasty.
We roll each ball in breadcrumbs and spread it on the pan with well-heated sunflower oil. Pour a lot of oil is not necessary: as usual when you fry the patties.
Fry the croquettes on all sides until light rosy.
We remove on a platter, we serve warm. You can pour sour cream or homemade ketchup.
