Mannik on kefir

Mannik on kefir

A mannik is a pasty cake in which the flour is partially or completely replaced by semolina. Due to the simplicity and speed of preparation of this dish, experienced housewives often delight their loved ones, often preparing it even for breakfast. The classic manna is made on kefir. Dairy product, interacting with soda or other baking powder, allows you to make the cake lush, gives it a pleasant taste. Mannik does not like pretentiousness, but if you sprinkle it with powdered sugar or cocoa while pouring it, pour it with condensed milk or jelly, he will be able to compete with popular cakes.

Cooking Features

The technology of mannica preparation on kefir is simple, but it has several nuances that you should know about before you start cooking.

  • The semolina must be soaked before cooking the manna; otherwise it will crunch on the teeth and ruin the taste of the finished cake. To soak the grits, pour kefir for 30-60 minutes. If kefir is cold, more time is needed, if warm - less. If you have planned cooking mannica for breakfast, semolina can pour kefir in the evening and leave overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Often, mannica contains eggs. They are stirred with sugar separately and only then combined with swollen semolina.
  • Vanillin, cinnamon, lemon or orange zest can be added to the mannin flavor.
  • A classic manna cooked with raisins, but you can make a pie without any additions. Raisins are often replaced with other dried fruits, pieces of fresh or canned fruits, berries.
  • To make the cake better off, the form is coated with butter and sprinkled with decoy, breadcrumbs and flour. You can lay in the form of parchment soaked in oil. In order for the parchment to better enter the round shape, covering not only its bottom, but also the sides, a circle larger than the shape is cut from it and cut along the perimeter from the edges to the center at a distance of 3 cm from each other.
  • If the cake is poorly removed, the shape can be turned over onto a dish and a towel moistened with water should be placed on the bottom of the mold.
  • Mannic can be cut only after it has cooled, otherwise the cut will be uneven, unaesthetic.

To give the mannic to a more noble and appetizing look, it is sprinkled with icing sugar or cocoa powder through the stencil. When serving a portion of the semolina cake, it can be poured with condensed milk, syrup, jelly, sour cream, chocolate sauce.
