Amazing, tasty and healthy fruit - pear! It is very nutritious and at the same time in a pear a large amount of nutrients and some calories. It is a natural source of energy. Even in ancient China, pear symbolized longevity, as pear trees are very long in their lives. And the aroma of honey pear, which I propose to cook in this recipe, can not be compared just with nothing. Try it and you make this tasty, simple and fragrant dish - honey pears.
Ingredients for honey pears
- 1 kg of medium-sized pears,
- 1/2 Art. spoons of lemon juice,
- 3/4 cup dark flavored honey (not candied),
- 1 cup of sugar,
- 1 glass of wine vinegar,
- 1/2 tsp cardamom;
- 6 grains of black allspice and cloves;
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon;
- a pinch of ginger.
Method of making honey pears
Wash pears and cut them in half. Peel, tails and seeds. In order for the pears not to darken, fill them with boiled water, after adding lemon juice to it.
Pound spices in the mortar. Pour wine vinegar and honey into the pan, add sugar. Boil, stirring constantly, over low heat until sugar is completely dissolved.
Pour the acidified water with the pears into another pan (the water should barely cover the fruit). Boil for about 5 minutes, then remove the pears and dry.
Wash the jars and turn them upside down to drain the water. Place on a baking sheet and heat in the oven. Put the pears in the cooled jars.
Add the spices to the honey vinegar marinade and bring to a boil. Hot marinade pour pears, carefully close the jars and cool.
Fill the pot with cold water and place the jars in it. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and cook for about 7 minutes. Remove the jars and cool. Store honey pears in a cool place.
Our advice. Syrup is best cooked in an aluminum or enamel saucepan.
